Description
This 1:1 Adapted Recreation Swim Lessons supports individuals with disabilities who require individualized support to participate successfully in swim lessons and may have experienced limited success in mainstream programs. Adapted Swim Lessons focus on developing each swimmer’s unique abilities in a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment. Prerequisite: Participants must hold a valid Adapted Recreation Pass before registering. To obtain a pass, a Recreation Support Plan must first be completed through Access Services. Please contact access.services@vancouver.ca to begin the process and ensure your pass is in place prior to registration. Eligibility: This program is open to participants of all ages with disabilities who require individualized support to participate successfully in swim lessons. Program Information: Adapted Swim Lessons are recreation-based and focus on developing swimming skills, water safety, confidence, and enjoyment of the water. While instructors adapt lessons to meet individual needs, this program is not a therapeutic, rehabilitation, or clinical service. Registration & Waitlist Information: To ensure fair access, participants may register for one session in Set 1 and one session in Set 2 of the 1:1 Adapted Recreation Swim Lessons. Once a participant is registered for a session, they will be removed from all other waitlists for the same set. No Class October 10
