At both Via Linda and Granite Reef Senior Centers, the Area Agency on Aging’s State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) program has representatives that are available to assist you in navigating the complexities of Medicare. These certified Medicare counsellors provide local, in-depth, and objective one-on-one counseling and assistance to Medicare eligible individuals, their families and caregivers. They will help you review and understand your Medicare health or prescription drug plan options, and can assist you in making changes during Medicare's annual election period (open enrollment). Additionally, they can help you get assistance for out-of-pocket costs associated with Medicare by helping you apply for the Medicare Savings Program and assist you in applying for “extra help” through the Social Security Administration. Medicare counseling is available by appointment only. Please call either senior center for your appointment.
